The Defense Department and top Marine Corps brass responding to a video that apparently shows four U.S. Marines urinating on bloodied bodies in Afghanistan should be standing up for brave American warriors instead of kowtowing to radical Islamic lobby groups and Afghan leaders, says talk-radio host Michael Savage.

“What have the Taliban done to our troops? What have the Taliban done to the Afghanis? What are they responsible for in terms of human degradation?” Savage asked his “Savage Nation” listeners last night. “Why is our government punishing our Marines instead of saluting them?”

As military officials investigate the 39-second video, which surfaced amid attempts by Washington to engage in peace talks with the Taliban, U.S. officials already are condemning the Marines.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, who was said to be “deeply troubled” by the “utterly deplorable” video, telephoned Afghan President Hamid Karzai and vowed in a statement that those “found to have engaged in such conduct will be held accountable to the fullest extent.”

Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations – a D.C.-based group tied to a scheme to fund Hamas – faxed a letter to Panetta condemning “this apparent desecration of the dead as a violation of our nation’s military regulations and of international laws of war prohibiting such disgusting and immoral actions.”

Savage noted that CAIR “is the same hate group that overturned a law passed by the majority of people in Oklahoma” to ban consideration of international or Islamic law in the state’s courts.

“Apparently they were distressed that the Marines were not dead and that the Taliban was dead, and they got back at the Marines in any way they could,” Savage said of CAIR’s reaction.

Savage also took aim at the response of “cowardly” Marine Corps Commandant Gen. John Amos, who said in a statement the behavior shown in the video is “wholly inconsistent with the high standards of conduct and warrior ethos that we have demonstrated throughout our history” and that the Marine Corps remains “fully committed to upholding the Geneva Convention, the laws of war and our own core values.”

“I think one of your core values, General Amos, would be to be a general who supports your boys who you’ve put in harm’s way while you sit on your fat behind there in North Carolina,” Savage said.

Savage insisted there’s a better way to respond.

“And that is to say,” he suggested, “‘We don’t know what happened, however, we are U.S. Marines first, and we support our boys. Whatever happened in the heat of battle will be looked into. Now go away, and cover Newt Gingrich’s waistline. Leave us alone. Leave it to the military.’”

Savage noted there is little media coverage when Marines are mutilated.

“The Taliban are barbarians; they cut people’s heads off; they kill women and children. But, of course, there is no mention of any of that,” he said.

None other than a Taliban spokesman himself use the term “barbaric,” but it was to describe the scene of Marines urinating on bodies.

“No religion that follows a holy text would accept such conduct,” Qari Yousuf Ahmadi said via text message, according to CNN. “This inhuman act reveals their real face to the world.”

Karzai called on the U.S. government to investigate and issue the harshest punishment possible, calling the “act” by American soldiers “simply inhuman and condemnable in the strongest possible terms.”

Savage wondered, “If we strip away all of the brave ones, who will be left?”

“What kind of men would have the guts to enlist in the Marine Corps to begin with – to choose to go into combat against these 15th-century throwbacks and to face them eye to eye, man to man, blade to blade, gun to gun, bullet for bullet?” he asked.

“And we’re supposed to expect nice guys like Wolf Blitzer to enlist in the military?” Savage asked, referring to the CNN host.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is the lead investigative agency, CNN reported, citing a U.S. official who said the desecration of a body by U.S. troops could be considered a potential war crime.

Savage summed up for his listeners the fate of the four Marines.

“Should they be given a medal or a court martial in this cowardly new world we live in where the generals throw their boys overboard … to the wolves of the media?”

Senior officials have taken unusual steps to secure the contract for New York-based Siga Technologies Inc., whose controlling shareholder is billionaire Ronald O. Perelman, one of the world's richest men and a longtime Democratic Party donor.

When Siga complained that contracting specialists at the Department of Health and Human Services were resisting the company's financial demands, senior officials replaced the government's lead negotiator for the deal, interviews and documents show.

When Siga was in danger of losing its grip on the contract a year ago, the officials blocked other firms from competing.

OAKLAND -- Oakland developer Phil Tagami is used to working behind the scenes to broker some of the biggest deals in town. Late Wednesday, he was using different persuasive skills - holding a loaded shotgun to scare away rioters trying to get into a downtown building.

"We had people who attempted to break into our building," the landmark Rotunda Building on Frank Ogawa Plaza outside City Hall, Tagami said Thursday. He grabbed a shotgun that he usually keeps at home, went down to the ground floor and "discouraged them," he said.

"I was standing there and they saw me there, and I lifted it - I didn't point it - I just held it in my hands," Tagami said. "And I just racked it, and they ran."

Politics: The hippie horde attempting to mob and "occupy" Wall Street this week has a method to its madness. It's all about getting President Obama re-elected by employing classic Alinskyite tactics.

At first glance, the latest protests staged by left-wing rent-a-mobs in New York, Washington, Los Angeles and elsewhere don't look terribly different from the World Trade Organization and global debt-amnesty spectaculars of a decade ago. Radicals swarm against some hated totem, chant, break a few Starbucks windows and leave scads of garbage for someone else to clean up.

But the "Occupy Wall Street" mob that shut down the Brooklyn Bridge last weekend and drew 700 arrests bears all the earmarks of a professional political machine effort to keep Obama in the White House.

This time, banks were the target, as mobs bore down on Wall Street and posted demands on their Twitter feed to tax and arrest bankers. They knew a soft spot when they saw one.

Polls show the public continues to blame banks instead of administration policies for the economic downturn and widespread joblessness. Singling out banks is a tactic torn right from the playbook of Obama's political mentor, Chicago community organizer Saul Alinsky.

Ironically, Obama revoked a similar George W. Bush order in one of his first official acts as president. Shortly after swearing in, Obama killed it as part of his much-ballyhooed commitment to government transparency. Despite their honest intentions, many of the Occupy Wall Street protesters are being suckered into a trap and calling for the very “solutions” that are part of the financial elite’s agenda to torpedo the American middle class – higher taxes and more big government.

The ignorance displayed in these interviews knows no bounds. The protesters just don’t get it. They are calling for the government to use force to impose their ideas, all in the name of bringing down corporations who they don’t realize have completely bought off government regulators. Corporations and government enjoy a mutually beneficial relationship – getting one to regulate the other is asinine and only hurts smaller businesses who are legitimately trying to compete in a free market economy that barely exists.

The zeal for totalitarian government amongst some of the “protesters” is shocking.

Barack Obama, it’s time your Auntie Zeituni moved into the White House with her family.

See, I believed you this week when you said, “Everyone’s gonna have to chip in. It’s only fair.”

That’s what you said before you got onto Air Force One (as opposed to one of those evil corporate jets) to fly to Chicago for the first of your two birthday parties.

“I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, we can’t balance the budget on the backs of the very people who have borne the biggest brunt of the recession.”

No, the brunt must be borne by those who don’t pay their “fair share.” The rich — that 1 percent of the population that makes 20 percent of the income and yet pays a mere 40.4 percent of the nation’s income taxes.

We’ve already asked too much of Auntie Zeituni, the illegal alien turned political refugee who lives on welfare in public housing (and did even before she was dealt the political refugee everything-free-in-America card).

So move her into the White House. You pick up the tab. She’s your aunt, not mine.

I read just this week in the American Thinker that you’ve been denouncing the fact that those greedy evil Americans who actually work for a living get itemized deductions.

Yet this tax year, the Web site reported, you Obamas claimed $373,289 in itemized deductions. Had you merely used the standard deduction of $11,400, you could have jacked up your taxable income by $361,889. You could have paid — excuse me, “invested” — another $126,661 in income taxes. Money that would be used . . . for the children. You and the rest of the moonbats keep saying we need a “balanced” approach to solving the deficit problem. I agree we need balance — everybody who thunders about raising other people’s taxes should balance their rhetoric by paying more themselves, voluntarily.

Barack, do the right thing by Auntie Zeituni. Then we can start talking about helping your half-brother George. You remember George — he’s the guy who lives in a cardboard box in Nairobi.

IN a serendipitous coincidence of timing, in the space of two hours this week, Australians were afforded a sharp, momentary insight into the two opposing ideological mindsets that are competing for the soul of our nation.

In a Sydney hotel on Monday night, Czech President Vaclav Klaus, an economist who fought against communism, was warning of the new threats to our freedom he recognises in the doctrine of global warming.

Almost simultaneously, in a Hobart casino, Greens senator Christine Milne was unilaterally announcing, on ABC-TV's Q&A show, that the Government would be conducting an inquiry into the section of the Australian media that she finds "extreme(ly) bias(ed) against action on climate change".

Milne's every illiberal pronouncement was greeted with applause by an audience that seemed full of tree huggers, bearded public servants and other recipients of government largesse, about the only growth industry left in Tasmania.

WHEN HE JUSTIFIES HIS VIOLENCE, HE QUOTES THE BIBLE – LUKE, MATTHEW, ISAIAH, DANIEL, 1 CORINTHIANS, 2 CORINTHIANS, EXODUS, SAMUEL, JUDGES, AND PSALMS. I’VE SAID TIME AFTER TIME ON THIS SHOW THAT THE GREATEST VICTIMS OF RADICAL ISLAM ARE THEIR OWN CO-RELIGIONISTS. Not an agro products company, an insurance provider, or a labor union as you may suspect, Herbalife International is in fact a global nutrition and supplement company that specializes in “healthy” weight loss.

Herbalife International earns the distinction of becoming Harkin’s biggest single donor [3] by having given him a total of $137,916.00 since 1989. Between the years 2005-2010 they gave Harkin $55,606.00, a display of generosity which came after already having donated over $40,000.00 to him in the 2004 campaign cycle alone.

Some investigating shows that not only does Herbalife International have a wide range of products directly or indirectly tied to weight gain, weight loss, and eating disorders, but that the issue is one of a deeply personal nature for the company. Herbalife was founded in 1980 by a man named Mark Hughes, now deceased, whose inspiration for starting the company was his belief that his mother died of an eating disorder and an “unhealthy approach to weight loss”.....

All Assault Rapists in Oslo Follow Muhammad

Defenders of Islam call it a "religion of peace" but many Norwegian women are learning that Islam is the religion of rape. According to an amazing police report released there this month, every single solved case of assault-rape in the country in 2010 was carried out by a Muslim immigrant.

The report was cited by an official Norwegian television station, which interviewed a victim who said that her rapist explained to her that his religion permits him to rape her.

According to the police report there was a total of 186 of known rape cases in 2010. These fall into various categories, the largest one of which is assault-rape, carried out by sheer physical force, of which there were 86 cases. In 83 of these cases the perpetrator could be identified by the victim. In all 83, the attacker was described as having "non-western appearance," a laundered euphemism for Muslim immigrants from Africa, the Middle East, or Asia.

In other categories of rape there were Norwegian attackers as well, but they were still in the minority (Note: the translation of the Norwegian TV report embedded here does not make a distiction between "assault rape" and other forms of rape, and appears to confuse the statistics for 2010 with those for 2006-2010).

A female police officer who commented on the report explained that “Many of the perpetrators who commit these rapes are on the edge of society often unemployed, arriving from traumatized countries. In the past five years it has often been asylum seekers.”The problem is not new. A report in Aftenposten in 2001 said: “While 65 percent of those charged with rape are classed as coming from a non-western background, this segment makes up only 14.3 percent of Oslo's population. Norwegian women were the victims in 80 percent of the cases.”

“In other words,” says the New American, “Muslims from Africa and other benighted Third World places are targeting Western women for rape.” It elaborates:

“In 2005, the blogger Fjordman reported on a similar rape wave in Sweden. A crime prevention study that year reported that Algerians, Libyans, Moroccans, and Tunisians ‘dominate the group of rape suspects,’ he reported. The same year, the newspaper Aftonbladet reported that nearly half of all rapists were immigrants.”

Yehuda Bello, an Israeli blogger who is well-acquainted with Norwegian culture, noted the report and claimed that Norwegians are a culturhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gife that suffers from “extreme boredom” due to the presence of huge oil reserves, and are thus inordinately interested in multiculturalism and assorted “human rights” campaigns.

They are also traditionally anti-Semitic, he believes. As a result their politicians and press are focused on Israel’s actions in Shechem (Nablus) and Hevron and choose to ignore Muslim misdeeds – be they in Iran, Syria, or in Norway itself.

Despite this, he reports, the Muslim rape campaign has become so terrible that even Norwegians have begun to recognize the reality around them, and in recent months there have been protests where the slogan was “Muslims out!”.

For months, the Dutch parliament has debated a bill that would ban kosher slaughter on supposed humanitarian grounds. On June 23, parliament offered a compromise according to which the Jewish community will have a chance to demonstrate that this 3,000-year-old practice does not cause animals to suffer. Given that kosher slaughter is mandated in order to prevent animal suffering, the entire proceeding is grotesque. This might seem like an esoteric issue affecting a small religious minority; on the contrary, I argue, it is on just such questions that the moral survival of the West depends - Spengler.
